18. Reflecting on a trophy

Usually after the TOUR Championship, and all golf tournaments for that matter, photographers all move onto the green for the trophy ceremony and presentation. Due to the pandemic this year, we were limited to how many were allowed inside the ropes on the green for the ceremony. I chose to stay outside the ropes, far in the distance searching for something different. After champion Dustin Johnson was set aside for pictures with the photographers on the green, I noticed him look down at the trophy as he pulled it close to his face. I saw this picture in that moment as a different view of DJ’s celebration and relief for his victory. This frame translated well from a distance, but by cropping it, its strong visual nature comes through even more.
