This action shot of Nick Markakis of the Atlanta Braves during Game Two of the National League Championship Series was shot with a remote camera. I mounted the camera in the catwalk of the roof, above home plate hours before the game. In the moment, I triggered the remote camera by firing a radio transmitter, while shooting the play with a handheld camera from ground level. Utilizing this technique and technology allows us to have multiple angles of an important play, while also producing images from a unique point-of-view. The unique angle and peak action of Markakis sliding across home plate while the ball gets away from the catcher makes for a great photo.
