Fantasy Stars & Studs, Week 16: Non-Alvin Kamara league-winners
Michael Gallup – Dallas Cowboys
The forgotten man in some respects in terms of the Cowboys receiving corps, Gallup has delivered a reminder of his considerable talents in recent weeks and, if you started him at receiver or flex in your fantasy championship matchup, your odds of prevailing were significantly increased as Gallup shredded the dreadful Philadelphia Eagles secondary.
Gallup helped keep the Cowboys alive in the playoff hunt by contributing six catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns in the 37-17 win over their now eliminated NFC East rivals.
His efforts earned Gallup 30.1 points in PPR scoring, with Adams the only receiver to outperform him.
He now has four touchdowns in his last four games and, heading into a pivotal Week 17 matchup with the New York Giants, stands as a potentially strong play in DFS.
Beyond the final week of the 2020 regular season, the long-term outlook for Gallup is difficult to project.
At present, it is unclear who will be playing quarterback for the Cowboys in 2021 and Gallup’s production is contingent on what kind of target share he receives in a loaded offense that also features Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb in its receiving corps.
You may be celebrating a title if you started Gallup in Week 16, but he’s still a tough receiver to trust looking ahead to next year.
