Fantasy Stars & Studs, Week 16: Non-Alvin Kamara league-winners
Jamison Crowder – New York Jets
Throughout much of what has been an embarrassing season for the Jets, Crowder has been continually productive and provided surprisingly reliable fantasy results.
He was key again on Sunday as the Jets recorded their second successive win with victory over the Cleveland Browns, that success ensuring they will not be picking first in the 2021 NFL Draft and will likely miss out on Trevor Lawrence.
Crowder had seven catches for 92 yards and a touchdown and also threw for a 43-yard score on a trick play, netting him a PPR points haul of 29.3, his fourth score of over 20 points this season.
The Jets can move on from Crowder in the offseason at a minimal dead cap cost but he is under contract for 2021 and would still carry decent fantasy value going into the next season were he to remain with the team.
Some may see his upside as being tempered by not getting the chance to play with Lawrence and the possibility of the Jets using their second first-round pick on a young wide receiver who will take targets away from him.
But Crowder can be a very useful safety net for a rookie quarterback, assuming the Jets draft a replacement for Sam Darnold, making him worth a late-round selection next year if he does stay in New York. In dynasty leagues, Crowder carries enough potential value to be considered a veteran who is worthy of a keeper designation going into 2021 rookie and free agent drafts.
