Brodie Lee’s 8-year-old son who made his pro debut on a recent episode of AEW Dark has signed a contract with the company.

As initially reported by WrestlingNews.co the son of former AEW TNT Champion Brodie Lee, Brodie Jr. has signed a contract with All Elite Wrestling following his appearance on an AEW Dark segment where he pinned the current champion Kenny Omega. The contract signing was announced by Tony Schiavone, a color commentator on AEW and a 30 year veteran of the wrestling industry.

This announcement comes just a few days after the announcement of the tragic passing of Brodie Jr father Brodie Lee due to a “non-COVID-19 related lung illness.”

Schivone who announced the contract signing also went on to share a few details about how the roster was told of the untimely passing of Lee.

“The day that he passed away, we received an email that we were going to have a company-wide zoom call in 30 minutes and I knew that if we were going to have a zoom call that quickly, something was bad. So, they told us about that. I got to know his wife Amanda, his son Brodie has been backstage and we keep him backstage with us now. We take care of him.”

The announcement of his son’s contract also comes ahead of a scheduled celebration of the career of Brodie Lee which will take place on AEW Dynamite airing tonight at 8/7c on the TNT Network.
