NBA DFS picks December 30: My name is Luka
By Mike Marteny
NBA DFS Centers:
It has been an inauspicious beginning to the 2020 season for Anthony Davis, but this looks like the spot to put him out there. This is a great matchup. The Lakers as a whole look complacent though, so I’m not nearly as heavy on A.D. as I would usually be in a situation like this.
Jonas Valanciunas is a walking double-double right now. Boston wont stop him. In a vacuum, I like Jonas better than Davis, but his ceiling is fairly low. We all know what the ceiling is for A.D.
This is also a great spot for Montrezl Harrell. He’s one of the few Lakers that looks to be moving at full speed right now, but his horrible showings against Portland and Minnesota have soured me on Harrell a lot, especially since DraftKings didn’t give us a price break. Screw it. Harrell is overpriced. Jusuf Nurkic is a better option. There! I said it.
I mentioned in the opening that Capela is still a solid option, but I actually think Jarrett Allen is better for the price. So is Serge Ibaka. There’s no sense paying for a Capela ceiling, which is what we need if he’s only playing 25 minutes.
The price on Bismack is a little too high for my liking. Paying that for P.J. Washington is one thing because there’s ample upside. Bismack has little to no upside.
Enes Kanter has been superb in limited minutes for Portland. He is almost outscoring Nurkic in 10 or more less minutes per game! That’s what I’m looking for in a value pick.
