Justin Fields took a huge hit and college football media is seriously concerned about the Ohio State quarterback’s ability to finish the Sugar Bowl.

Justin Fields should get a medal for his toughness, finishing out the first half of the Sugar Bowl despite taking a vicious hit.

Will he be able to finish the game though?

College football media isn’t so certain.

It’s obvious to everyone that Fields wasn’t 100 percent after returning to the game following the blow from Clemson’s James Skalski, which resulted in an ejection. He spent a long time on the ground after the hit and missed just one play.

He did go out and throw two touchdowns in the aftermath, but every play was a hold-your-breath moment. Anytime a defender came near it was terrifying.

The big question was whether Fields’ ribs would feel better or worse after halftime.

So what did Fields do? Start the second half and complete a long gain to Chris Olave for 36 yards. Unfortunately for the quarterback and the Buckeyes, he went on to throw a bad interception in the end zone to end the drive.

Justin Fields is playing well through the pain

After a less-than-stellar Big Ten title game, Fields certainly bounced back. He had four first-half touchdowns while leading Ohio State to a big lead over Clemson. In fact, after Clemson took a 14-0 lead, the Buckeyes scored 28 unanswered points.

Fields exceptional toughness helped them get there, but the quality of his play in the second half is going to be a storyline to watch out for.
