Pick Analysis. Pittsburgh Steelers. 2 . player. Scouting Report. OLB. Bud Dupree . 55

When players are brought back on the franchise tag, it’s always a risk. One hopes that they will be good enough to prove their season prior was building off something special, but not good enough to take over the entire salary cap.

Bud Dupree will be coming off a torn ACL late in the season, so perhaps he’ll be more affordable. The more likely option, however, is he still wants to be paid his worth while he has a chance.

Pass-rushers in today’s NFL is so essential to a franchise’s success. In two years, Dupree has tallied 19.5 sacks and would have likely finished with more if not for the injury. Teams now have a look at his production and will be willing to pay top dollar for it, even if he misses time.

The Steelers’ focus will be on extending T.J. Watt. That means the duo off the edge is coming to a close.
