Tyrann Mathieu hinted at some landing spots for Deshaun Watson.

The Houston Texans might be one of the most dire situations in the NFL, but they could always rest their heads east at night given the fact that Deshaun Watson is their franchise quarterback. However, new GM Nick Caserio now has to deal with a potentially disgruntled Watson, as there are rumors that he could request a trade. Chiefs DB Tyrann Mathieu, who played with Watson in Houston, has a few spots on his mind for No. 4 if he forces his way out.

Mathieu thinks that the New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers, and Chicago Bears could all be great landing spots for Watson if Houston wants to hit the reset button.

If a team has the draft picks needed to get him, Deshaun Watson could be a game-changer

Watson was on a 4-12 team this year, but he put together the best season of his career. Watson led the NFL in passing yards and yards per attempt, all the while throwing for 33 touchdowns against just seven interceptions.

New Orleans is almost nine-figures over the salary cap, so they can be safely ruled out. Chicago, a playoff team who famously passed on Watson for Mitchell Trubisky, could right their wrongs by trading for him, but Houston’s potential asking price might be too much for Ryan Pace. As fun as San Francisco would be with Watson and Kyle Shanahan, they likely don’t have the draft capital needed to pull this move off.

As long as Watson is the quarterback, Houston will have a fighting chance at the postseason. Losing him could send the Texans into a truly unprecedented spiral of mediocrity unless they nail every single draft pick they get in exchange for one of the top five quarterbacks in the league.
