With John Wolford out, the Los Angeles Rams turned to Jared Goff.

Jared Goff was supposed to be the franchise quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams entering the 2020 season. That status might be pending entering the 2021 offseason.

After suffering a thumb injury in the Week 16 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, Goff was expected to miss time after undergoing surgery. Although active, Sean McVay ruled that John Wolford would get the start and the former No.1 pick would be the emergency quarterback.

Emergency time has officially arrived in Seattle.

Wolford took a hit while running up the middle by Seahawks’ safety Jamal Adams. The Rams’ medical staff would be forced to come out and help the former AAF quarterback off the field. Meanwhile, Goff would be forced to warm up and play.

In his first snap, Seahawks’ Jarrad Reed would bring down Goff. The Rams would settle for a 40-yard field goal from Matt Gay.

Can the Rams win with Goff ?

The season was much of an up and down season for Goff, who signed a massive extension for the Rams during the 2019 season. After leading Los Angeles behind a steady defense to Super Bowl LIII, things have not looked in favor of Los Angeles’ offense.

Wolford somehow was able to defeat the Cardinals and make the playoffs. In his first career start and NFL debut, the third-year quarterback completed 22-of-38 passes for 231 yards. He also rushed for six yards on the afternoon.

Wolford could be out for the game and Goff will be playing with a bum thumb. This could be an interesting game entering Saturday evening.
