The Eagles are a complete tire fire at the moment. They currently are $70 million over the salary cap while featuring two “starting” quarterbacks that will be the subject of endless offseason debate in Jalen Hurts and Carson Wentz. Philly also has a robust ZERO head coaches after a 4-11-1 season ended up getting Doug Pederson fired. One of the few things that all Eagles fans can agree on is the need for more perimeter talent following the somewhat disappointing performance of Jalen Reagor and the extremely disappointing play of JJ Arcega-Whiteside. Smith would instantly become the No. 1 target on the team if the Eagles select him in the draft.

With Zach Ertz likely leaving in free agency and DeSean Jackson likely to consider retirement this offseason, Smith is in a position to become either Hurts or Wentz’s top target the second he arrives in Philly. While he could last until pick No. 6, the Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Bengals could easily pick him up with picks No. 3 and 5, respectively. The only way to guarantee Smith wearing the wing on the side of his helmet is to trade up, as doing so could help Howie Roseman draft a Pro Bowl player for the first time since Wentz in 2016, all the while getting the offense back to respectability.
