Allen Robinson rumors: 5 best fits in NFL free agency
Sometimes the best thing for a player is to sign on to a rental deal. It’s easy to be the No.1 target on a franchise that’s struggling, but everyone wants the Lombardi Trophy and Super Bowl ring when the season comes to an end.
The Kansas City Chiefs will have Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce all together for the next few seasons. Mecole Hardman will likely step up as the No. 3 option, but everyone else could be leaving. Sammy Watkins is in a contract year. So is DeMarcus Robinson as the team’s No. 4.
Would Robinson be willing to take less to play for something bigger than a payday?
Imagine the Chiefs having the speed of Hill and Hardman on the outside and in the slot. Now put Kelce in the flats and Robinson across the middle. Name where the flaw is for Mahomes passing? Stop before your brain hurts, there isn’t one.
Kansas City will have to be smart with their money after the extensions from last season. If they can find a way to convince Robinson to sign small, the records they could set might be historic on their way to another Super Bowl title.
