Kellen Moore wants to be a head coach in the NFL. The Dallas Cowboys OC might have to join a rival in Philadelphia to do so.

The Philadelphia Eagles will be looking for a head coach following the firing of Doug Pederson. The team went 4-11-1, proving that even those who win a Super Bowl aren’t without their faults.

The next head coach might come from off the beaten path, but Eagles’ fans should a name quite well after multiple years of facing him down in the Lone Star State.

According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, the Eagles have requested to interview Dallas Cowboys‘ offensive coordinator Kellen Moore for their open position. Moore, 32, was considered the favorite to become the next head coach at his alma mater, Boise State.

Moore recently signed a three-year contract to remain the Cowboys offensive coordinator under Mike McCarthy another season. The former quarterback turned OC has stated in the past the ultimate goal for him is to become an NFL head. coach.

While some believed he would become the Cowboys’ coach in waiting for should McCarthy fail in 2021, could Philadelphia go behind enemy lines to land their top choice?

The Eagles hope to better results in 2021 with Carson Wentz

It’s clear the plan for Philadelphia is to bring in a young offensive name this offseason in some capacity. The team is expected to interview both Arthur Smith of Tennessee and Joe Brady of Carolina for the position as well.

With Pederson’s firing, this proves ownership will be siding with Carson Wentz. Wentz stated earlier this offseason that his relationship with his former head coach might be unfixable after his benching in favor of rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts.

After a recent extension signing that would cost the team an ample amount in cap space, it certainly feels as if Wentz will be back in the starting role for 2021.

Moore would be brought in to fix Wentz. During his two seasons as the Cowboys’ play-caller, Dak Prescott flourished when healthy. The former mid-round pick might have been a superstar with the Cowboys’ arsenal in 2020, but suffered an ankle injury in Week 5 that kept him out for the remainder of the season.

The Eagles have been known to make some crazy decisions over the past few years. Would Howie Roseman go this far? Soon, the once enemy of the Eagles’ defense might become their next head coach.

Next. Jerry Jones needs to hire a real GM to save the Dallas Cowboys. dark
