Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney opened up about Deshaun Watson’s status with the Texans and how he hopes things will play out.

As things stand, Deshaun Watson’s future with the Houston Texans really feels like it’s up in the air. The stud quarterback has reportedly grown incredibly frustrated with the organization, especially after team owner Cal McNair went rogue and hired general manager Nick Caserio.

Things have gotten to a point where reports have stated that Watson may end up asking the team to trade him this offseason.

Well, if you ask his former head coach at Clemson Dabo Swinney, he’s hopeful things can get squared away and Watson can go on to have a bright future with the Texans.

“Deshaun is incredibly loyal, incredibly committed, incredibly smart, incredibly passionate about winning,” Swinney said via tigernet.com. “The biggest thing is, he’s the franchise. And he’s such a great human being to go along with being a great quarterback. So I would think they are going to figure out who is going to be the coach, and certainly, I would think he’s going to be involved in that, or at least communicated with.”

Houston fans will probably riot if Watson isn’t spoken to about the head coach hire. Heck, there will be protests if they end up trading him too, especially after the team made its head-scratching DeAndre Hopkins move.

Caserio’s first order of business as the new Houston GM is to get on the same page as Watson and to make sure he’s included in any major decision that’s about to be made. Otherwise, we very well could end up seeing Watson suit up for a new team starting next season.
