The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback sent Chase Young an autographed jersey following their meeting in the Wild Card Round.

After the Washington Football Team clinched the NFC East title in Week 17, rookie defensive end Chase Young proclaimed that he wanted Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.

It was an ambitious ask for the stud edge rusher, as it caught the attention of Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians. In the end, Tampa Bay defeated Washington 31-23 to advance to the NFC Divisional Round.

After the game, Young shook hands with Brady and called him “the real GOAT,” before asking for his game-worn jersey. Brady said he would send it his way. On Saturday, Young received Brady’s jersey complete with an autograph and “best of luck” message.

Yet, Brady went a step further, even having some fun at Ohio State’s expense.

Young went to Ohio State, of course, while Brady is a Michigan alum.

Brady comes through with the signed jersey

There were obviously no hard feelings between the two. The rookie, like all athletes, is a competitor and was looking forward to the challenge of defeating Brady.

In fact, the Football Team actually put the Buccaneers on upset alert late in the game due to the play of quarterback Taylor Heineke. But it just wasn’t enough to top the Buccaneers, who earned their first playoff win since 2002.

Young was unable to get to Brady once, but did tally three total tackles on the day. As for Brady, the six-time Super Bowl champion completed 22-of-40 attempts for 381 yards and two touchdowns.

While Washington was unable to win, Young did get himself one hell of a parting gift, one that would cost others thousands of dollars to acquire. Even with the new piece of memorabilia to display on his wall, Young will be looking to get his first career sack on Brady in the 2021 season, when Washington and Tampa Bay meet up again.

Meanwhile, Brady is focused on sending the Buccaneers to the NFC Championship Game with a win over the rival New Orleans Saints on Sunday night.
