Kansas and Baylor will square off in one of the Big 12’s best games of the year.

The Big 12 has been a beast all season as the extremely rugged conference has produced a ton of elite teams. Texas has emerged as a national title contender while Oklahoma State and West Virginia have made some noise, but the league’s two top teams entering the year are set to square off tonight as Kansas takes on Baylor in Waco.

The Jayhawks really need to find a way to win this game after getting upset by Oklahoma State last week. The defeat means Kansas has dropped two of their past four games, which isn’t a big deal in the grand scheme of things but could be meaningful in the quest for strong seeding in the NCAA Tournament.

Baylor, on the other hand, is still considered the class of the Big 12 thanks to a 12-0 start that includes a 5-0 mark in conference play. A tight 68-60 win over Texas Tech on Saturday was the Bears’ biggest test to date and they passed it, setting the stage for one of the conference’s marquee matchups of the season.

These two teams met twice last season with each winning on the opposing team’s home floor. Kansas remains a Final Four threat but they will need to step up their game to take down Baylor, which is the lone team that has consistently been up there with Gonzaga as a top-tier national title contender.

This Bears team is stronger than last year’s since it is more explosive offensively and stingy on defense, allowing just 61.1 points per game. The overall depth of this Baylor team will probably be too much for the Jayhawks to overcome in the end but the contest should still be a thriller regardless.
