1. Jets free agent targets: WR Allen Robinson

If there is one player that the Jets need to sign it is wide receiver Allen Robinson. There are plenty of talented pass catchers on the market but Robinson is unquestionably the best receiver out there.

Robinson has had a pair of stellar seasons for Chicago, catching a combined 200 passes for 2,397 yards with 13 touchdowns over 31 games. That production is even more impressive when you consider that Robinson had to deal with incredibly inconsistent quarterbacking from Mitchell Trubisky, Nick Foles and Chase Daniel.

The Jets have to get their quarterback the best help possible in order to succeed. With over $70 million in salary cap room the Jets can afford to splurge to land a guy like Robinson, who can fit well into any offensive scheme and become a safety blanket for Sam Darnold or a rookie like Zach Wilson.

There will be stiff competition for Robinson’s services if the Bears don’t use the franchise tag to keep him. Douglas will be watching this situation closely to see if the opportunity emerges for the Jets to add a marquee playmaker like Robinson to the Jets’ offense.
