Darius Leonard was inspired by an act of kindness and paid it forward in a big way.

Indianapolis Colts star linebacker Darius Leonard was offered money randomly by a police officer for lunch at a Carmel, Indiana BMV. Completely caught off-guard by the kind gesture, he then returned the favor by paying for everyone’s meal at a local Cracker Barrel.

Leonard tweeted out that he had his mask on and a hoodie, so that made him largely unrecognizable when he went to the BMV. Blown away by Officer Greg Moses’ gesture, he then made several people’s days who were dining at Cracker Barrel. This series of events is proof that you never really know what can inspire someone to do something good for no reason at all.

What is the outlook for Leonard’s Colts entering the 2021 offseason?

Indianapolis made the AFC playoffs this past season as the No. 7 seed. While they got a good standalone year out of future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Philip Rivers, he announced his retirement earlier this week. This means the Colts will be in the market for a franchise quarterback. Will the draft one, trade for one or look to sign somebody in his free agency?

So while the Colts are blessed to have a football talent and a man of character of Leonard’s caliber, Indianapolis’ success next season is entirely contingent on the quarterback position. If they get it right, the Colts can be back in the AFC playoffs. But should they get it wrong, Indianapolis could be on the outside looking in. The Colts do not want to lose ground in any future AFC South races.

Good job by Leonard to be inspired by someone’s act of kindness to then create one of his own.
