3 players Buffalo Bills need to target in 2021 NFL Draft
The Bills’ linebacking unit doesn’t receive enough respect in the NFL. Tremaine Edmunds is a rising star up the middle while AJ Klein has rebounded nicely in western New York.
The real hero of the team is Matt Milano. Perhaps the most underrated linebacker in the league, Milano can blitz, play exceedingly well in coverage and is a wrap-up tackler that receivers can’t get past. Overall, he’s a premier stud for the secondary.
And he’s also a free agent looking for a massive payday come this offseason.
Zaven Collins is similar in skills to that of Milano. Despite being third on the team in sacks, he had one of the highest success tackle rates in the AAC. On top of that, Collins baited quarterbacks into throwing his direction, leading the Hurricanes with four interceptions.
Collins led the team in sacks in a limited season. His speed allows him to recover quickly in pass sets while his open-field tackling is impressive as well. As the winner of the Bronko Nagurski award, Collins will likely see his stock rise into first-round chatter.
He’s a perfect replacement for Milano and an ideal fit in McDermott’s versatile defensive scheme.
