Pick Analysis. Kevin King. player. Scouting Report. CB. Green Bay Packers. 1. 49

If there was one player who fit the scapegoat role, it was cornerback Kevin King. The 2017 second-round pick was entering the contest with a back injury, but was cleared hours ahead of the big game.

Once the game started, King was bullied by the Buccaneers.

On the opening drive of the game, Brady targeted stud receiver Mike Evans along the left sideline. King attempted to making a leaping breakup of the pass, but jumped way too early, allowing Evans to easily snag it in the end zone for the first drive of the game. Then, there was the final play of the first half. The man who was supposed to be covering Miller was, you guessed it, King. If you thought King couldn’t do any worse on the field, he showed up at the worst possible time.

In the final drive of the game, the Packers were trying to force Tampa Bay to a three-and-out. On third-and-four, Brady threw an incomplete pas to rookie wideout Tyler Johnson to force the fourth down. Then the flags flew, calling King for pass interference. Once the replay was shown on television screens across the nation, you can see King clearly grabbing the back of Johnson’s jersey. And that was the game.

This was a true drop-off for King, who just last season recorded five interceptions. This year? Zero. King is set to hit free agency now that Green Bay’s campaign is done. Based off this dreadful performance, King may have very well played his final snap in a Packers uniform.
