LeBron James continued to show off his talent from behind the arc this season in the first half of Thursday’s game in Detroit.

LeBron James seems to only get better with age. 2021 has shown us a rejuvenated James, even after he just won an NBA title in October.

James and the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Detroit Pistons Thursday night on the second night of a back-to-back. Did the star player get a ton of rest? Not quite. In fact, he went out and showed off his newfound dominance from deep early on.

James heating up from 3-point land

James averages 1.5 made 3-pointers per game throughout his career. He is already up to 2.7 per game during the 2020-21 season and knocked down four early on against the Pistons.

His biggest game of the season came Monday night in his former home of Cleveland. James went off for 46 points and also went 7-11 from behind the arc. That came just two games after he knocked down six 3-pointers against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Lakers have opened up this season looking like favorites to repeat as champions and James is obviously a major reason why that is the case. This newfound lethal shot from deep is quite the ridiculous thing to add at the age of 36 and proves why he is in the GOAT conversation.

Fans who watched James right out of high school saw him enter the NBA with a rather ugly shot. But he never stopped working on his game and is now an elite shooter after spending a stage of his career simply bullying anyone trying to defend him.

The Lakers ended up falling to the Pistons by a double-digit margin. That is not something fans will be happy about. However, James playing at an MVP level is something to ease the blow of a second straight loss.
