1. Aaron Jones

The other major way the Dolphins can help Tagovailoa in year 2 is to give him a dynamic running back to work with. Matt Breida didn’t get that done for Miami last season. That’s why he’s headed out the door in free agency.

Jones is clearly the top running back available in this year’s class. Critics of his game understandably worry about how leaving Aaron Rodgers might impact his productivity. The reality is that Jones has the speed and power to be an asset for any team.

His fit with the Dolphins is particularly sublime. They need more big plays from their run game which Jones can provide with his slashing style. Perhaps more importantly, they need to create some easy yardage for Tagovailoa and the passing game from the running back position.

That’s the way Jones can really revolutionize this offense. He’s quietly become one of the most effective pass-catchers in the NFL at his position. Tagovailoa’s efficiency and productivity would go way up with the addition of a back like Jones in free agency.
