3. Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams may be the best fit for Stafford among the teams trying to trade for him, but the lack of a first-round pick handicaps their chances to swing a deal.

The Rams have already shown interest in Stafford, but if the Lions are intent on getting a bounty of early picks for Stafford, our chances are hurt. However, if the Lions think Jared Goff can continue to develop into a star and aren’t turned off by his contract, that would increase the chances of a deal.

Last season, the Rams had the best defense in the NFL in terms of points allowed, but they were 22nd in scoring offense and 16th in net yards per pass attempts. Once again, many of those failings fall on Goff, who has been exposed as a mediocre passer since his 2018 campaign. He threw an interception on 2.4 percent of his attempts in 2020, whereas Stafford has never hit that mark since 2013.

Stafford is a better decision-maker than Goff and a more accomplished quarterback with considerably superior arm strength. Under the wise coaching of Sean McVay, who has never worked with a quarterback as talented as Stafford. Another weapon is needed after Brandin Cooks was never replaced, but the 90-catch duo of Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods is more tantalizing than any of the other teams on this list can offer.
