It didn’t count but Jordan Clarkson just made the craziest shot of the year

In the Jazz versus Nuggets game, Jordan Clarkson hit one of the weirdest shots of the year.

There was no shortage of highlights in the Utah Jazz versus Denver Nuggets matchup on Sunday night. Nikola Jokic put up 47 points to lead the Nuggets to a 128-117 win that snapped the Jazz’s incoming 11-game win streak. Though Jokic and Bojan Bogdanovic were the only two players to score over 20 points in the game, Jordan Clarkson hit a shot that will definitely end up being one of the craziest of the year.

With about 10 minutes left in the game and the Jazz down 17 points, the ball was swung to Jordan Clarkson for a wide-open 3-pointer from the corner. In true Jordan Clarkson fashion, the ball bounced off of the side of the rim and onto the top of the goal, hit the shot clock, bounced back onto the top of the backboard, and then dropped perfectly into the net for what should have been three points.

How many tries would it take Jordan Clarkson to do this again?

This is certainly one of the cooler things you’ll see Jordan Clarkson do. Now in his seventh year in the league, Clarkson is averaging a career-high 17.7 points per game on .461/.384/.972 shooting splits. He leads the NBA In bench scoring and has been a big piece in the Jazz’s hot start this season. So if you told us this shot had counted we probably would’ve believed you.

I’m sure the Jazz wished the ball would’ve bounced their way a few more times in the game. Bojan Bogdanovic went 8-of-13 from the field and had 29 points in the game to somewhat challenge Jokic’s insane game. Rudy Gobert didn’t get enough done against The Joker, putting up 12 points and 8 rebounds while Donovan Mitchell had a tough night, going 3-of-12 from the field and finishing with 13 points. The Jazz will look to get back on track on Tuesday, Feb. 2 against the Detroit Pistons.
