Mark Ingram sets record straight about Ravens playoff benching.

Some players could have raised a fuss if they were in Mark Ingram‘s shoes. Getting benched before getting released by the Ravens would have made any ready and willing NFL player ticked off and while Ingram wasn’t exactly happy about it, he wasn’t going to let that moment distract him from being a good teammate.

“Of course I was disappointed,” Ingram told FanSided. “I can’t say I was excited by any means about how it ended. I know I can still play this game and I know I could help my team. In many ways not being able to be on the field at the end of the time, being able to help us win a game, being able to make a play, maybe a difference in the game, you know, that was tough, man, but I love my teammates, man. I love my squad, and whatever I needed to do to make sure I could help us win a championship or help us pursue a championship, that was my main goal.”

Mark Ingram took the time to build his teammates up

Though he wasn’t able to play he still remained positive and helped to encourage the men he shared the field with seeing the bigger picture.

“Football is a business, man,” he said. “Football is a business and it’s tough and some things you can’t control but what I could control was my attitude, how I approach my work ethic every single day. How I treated my teammates and how I prepared myself and my teammates to be able to go out there and perform to our utmost ability on Sunday so that’s what I focused on. And, you know, it was tough, it was difficult, but I know I can still play this game at a high level, I’m prepared and ready to play this game at a high level. I’m excited about the future and wherever I’m gonna be next year.”
