2021 NFL Mock Draft: Texans find a Deshaun Watson replacement in the first-round
By Brad Weiss
The Tennessee Titans made it back to the playoffs this past season, but their run was a lot shorter than the year before. This past season, the Titans struggled mightily on the defensive side of the ball, and that is where they need to focus with their first-round pick in April.
With this pick, the Titans add a player who checks two boxes for them, a stellar linebacker who can also come up and play the edge. Zaven Collins is a guy who is ticketed for the first round, and head coach Mike Vrabel could do a lot with a player of his skill set.
With their second of the two draft picks they got from the New York Jets, the Houston Texans bring in a player to help protect their new franchise quarterback. Zach Wilson will be happy the Texans added Alijah Vera-Tucker with this pick, as he is one of the more versatile offensive linemen in this draft class.
Houston has a long way to go in terms of the roster this offseason, as they could be losing J.J. Watt as well. It is a complete rebuild in Houston based on this mock, and hopefully, for Texans fans, all the draft capital can yield some positive results.
For a while this past season, it looked like the Pittsburgh Steelers would be the favorite to win the Super Bowl. Ben Roethlisberger was playing at a high level, and the team got out to an 11-0 start before the wheels started falling off in the Steel City.
After getting bounced early in the playoffs, the Steelers hold the No. 24 overall pick, and they should focus on the offensive line with the selection. Samuel Cosmi is a guy who can come in and play right or left tackle at the next level, and the Steelers have to do something about the talent upfront on that side of the ball.
