4. Troy Hill

The starting duo of A.J. Bouye and Michael Ojemudia was arguably the worst cornerback pairing in the NFL last year. It’s reasonable for the Broncos to bet on one of them to bounce back, but it’s imperative that Denver add a new starter to help give their secondary a boost.

That doesn’t mean the Broncos need to spend massive cash. Landing a quality veteran on a reasonable contract should be enough to help secure a meaningful upgrade. Hill has enjoyed the luxury of playing opposite Jalen Ramsey in Los Angeles, but he still profiles as an above-average No. 2 corner.

The fact that HIll has enough size to stay on the outside differentiates him from a lot of fellow corners in this free agent class. The Broncos shouldn’t be tempted on spending big money on a guy to handle their slot duties. They need someone like Hill who can protect the perimeter before turning their attention inside.

The Rams will try to keep Hill in the fold, but they lack the salary cap space to fend off a quality offer from another team. The Broncos could give Hill a two-year deal for a total of $15 million and feel good about their coup.
