1.  Andy Reid off a bye week

The Super Bowl won’t take place until Feb. 7. That means for 14 days, the realm of football will be quiet for the first time since September. Although it will drive the common football fan insane, it’s great news for Andy Reid.

One thing that is common knowledge around the NFL is it’s bad luck to face Reid when given an extra week to prepare. The Chiefs have lost a regular-season game after a bye week since 2017 and only have lost twice with time off since Reid joined the staff in 2013. In games, the team has also outscored their opponents 219-155.

Even with atrocious defenses, ample rest gave the team ample time to prep for a victory. More than that, it allowed Reid to transfer his offense into a juggernaut that would secure a win. Unlike most coaches, Reid builds his gameplan around what the offense has, not was fits “his design” that day.

It’s why the Chiefs are so dangerous and why given the mastermind behind top offensive production more than enough time is beyond dangerous.
