Nate Burleson does not think the Super Bowl 55 quarterbacking matchup between Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes can ever be topped.

This stars will be out in full force in Super Bowl 55, and Nate Burleson knows this.

The former NFL wide receiver has pivoted to a tremendously successful media career since his retirement from playing. Whether he is getting up early with us on The NFL Network’s Good Morning Football or getting us caught up to speed on CBS’ The NFL Today, Burleson knows a great quarterback matchup when he sees one. We are talking about Tom Brady vs. Patrick Mahomes.

Nate Burleson believes Tom Brady vs. Patrick Mahomes cannot be topped

“I really couldn’t,” Burleson told FanSided‘s Ashley Young on behalf of Crown Royal. “We would oftentimes have these discussions about greats vs. greats. You know, who was better. Was it Kobe  [Bryant] (RIP) or was it [Michael] Jordan? Was LeBron [James] better than MJ? And we really couldn’t see like a LeBron vs. MJ. They’re just two different eras at two different times.

“Tom Brady has been so good for so long that we’re able to see him on his way out, even though I know he’s going to play a few more years, and Patrick Mahomes on his way up. So yeah, this is a matchup of mammoth proportions. Tom Brady is The GOAT, and I call it The GOAT vs. The Kid because, you know, the name of a baby goat is actually a kid. So it’s The GOAT vs. The Baby Goat.”

Brady has won six Super Bowls in his Hall-of-Fame career, playing in nine during his 20-year run the New England Patriots. While Mahomes is only in his fourth NFL season, he won MVP in his first full season as the Kansas City Chiefs starter. Just last season, Mahomes won the first Super Bowl of his career, bringing a Lombardi Trophy back to Arrowhead for the first time in 50 years.

Though Mahomes’ Chiefs are favored over Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, fate would have it Tampa Bay will be playing in its home stadium on Sunday. This is the first time this has ever happened in the Super Bowl era. It has been a strange year or so across the board, so is anybody really all that surprised? Either way, a GOAT is going to get a Super Bowl ring after this game.

Who will be winning Super Bowl 55 down in Tampa: The GOAT or The Baby GOAT?
