Aaron Jones has made it quite clear he’d love to stay with the Green Bay Packers, but he understands that may not be the case.

This offseason, Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones is all set to be a free agent. Not only that, he’ll be an unrestricted one. That means Jones will be available to be in contact and sign with any team that he desires.

With that being said, there’s no doubt that the speedster would like to return to Lambeau Field and keep suiting up for the team that drafted him. He made those feelings known in a recent interview with FanSided’s Mark Carman.

Packers fans are hoping that running back Aaron Jones will return to the Packers next season

“I mean, Green Bay, I’ve been there for four years and they’re the team that drafted me,” Jones said. “I’d love to stay there, but however it works out, it works out. It’s in God’s hands.”

Jones just wrapped up his fourth campaign with the Packers. In 2020, he rushed for a career-best 1,104 yards and added two touchdowns. Through the air, he posted 47 receptions for 355 yards and two more scores. Last season, Jones was a touchdown machine, rushing for 16 touchdowns.

Now, Jones will be getting ready to negotiate a new contract. What we don’t know is which team will be the one to sign him. With his speed and ability to break tackles, Jones was a fantastic player in Green Bay’s offense. Several teams would undoubtedly love the chance to get him in their backfield as well.

For the Packers and general manager Brian Gutekunst, trying to get Jones back with the team for next season and beyond will be a top priority. Stay tuned to see if the young running back indeed returns to Lambeau or joins a new team next fall.
