Edge. Pittsburgh. Rashad Weaver. 61. player. Pick Analysis. 16. Scouting Report

Any team with aspirations of stopping the Chiefs needs to be able to rush the passer at a high level. That’s why the Bills should be looking for edge rushing help in Round 2.

Weaver isn’t a perfect prospect due to his lack of strength on the outside. That does raise the possibility that he might never become a true three-down lineman in the NFL.

The other side of the coin for Weaver as a prospect is that he looks like a readymade pass-rusher for a team looking to generate more pressure in one-on-one matchups. Weaver isn’t the most athletic guy on the edge, but there’s a smooth nature to his game that allows him to avoid opposing tackles at an impressive clip.

The Bills can draft Weaver with the confidence that he can help them right away on obvious passing downs as a rookie. They can afford to be more patient with his ability to impact play on first and second down. Landing a guy who could generate double-digit sacks in Round 2 is a win for any would-be Super Bowl contender. That’s why the Bills should scoop Weaver up if he’s still on the board at No. 61.
