2021 NFL Draft: Chicago Bears 7-round mock
Allen Robinson will almost certainly leave the Bears via free agency. That will hurt an already thin receiving corps in Chicago. He can’t be replaced in the fifth round of any draft, but that doesn’t mean the Bears shouldn’t add depth with a guy like Schwartz at this juncture.
He’s not the most refined wideout in this year’s class, but he possesses absolute track speed that can be leveraged on the outside or in the slot. Schwartz was a legitimate homerun threat for Auburn and there’s no reason he can’t replicate that feat at the next level in time.
His pro future almost certainly lies on the inside. That’s where Nagy can get creative with different ways to get Schwartz the ball in space. He doesn’t need a ton of gadget plays to become a productive pro, but that might be in the best interest of Chicago’s offense given the absence of other playmakers.
Schwartz is another prospect who might be slept on without a robust workout schedule this year. His track speed is going to light up stopwatches any time he’s clocked. Nabbing this kind of weapon would be a real win for the Bears in Round 5.
