Pick Analysis. LB. 10. player. Scouting Report. Houston Texans. Dylan Cole . 4.

Kansas City will more than likely part ways with Damien Wilson this offseason. Is it because Steve Spagnulo’s defense is better is for 4-3 players? Perhaps with the addition of Willie Gay Jr. his role will be limited?

All could be reasons, but the 27-year-old is likely going to be calling out motions and audibles in a different uniform next season. Gay should be the starting as the team’s MIKE backer for 2021, but who is the SAM? Anthony Hitchens could be brought back for 2021, but the team wouldn’t take more than a $4.2 million cap hit after next season.

Just how talented is Cole? It really is an enigma since the undrafted Texans star has been adored on special teams and as the team’s third inside linebacker, but that’s only when he’s healthy. Last season Cole suffered a back injury that sidelined him for 10 games.

Houston agreed to terms on a $2.3 million deal in 2020 to keep Cole in NRG. He’s a standout on special teams and could be just as valuable in a limited role should Anthony Sherman walk. Best of all? Cole grew up two hours outside of Arrowhead in Springfield.

Can you say hometown discount?
