CB. Pittsburgh Steelers. 3.. Pick Analysis. Cam Sutton . player. 55. Scouting Report

If you look at the career of Bashaud Breeland at cornerback, it’s a roller-coaster ride. There’s been the career-highs and the career-lows in coverage for the Chiefs over the past two seasons. The thing is, someone is going to overpay to land a veteran cornerback who’s coming off back-to-back productive years.

Veach hit the jackpot when he landed L’Jarius Sneed in the fourth round last year. The Louisiana Tech safety transitioned back to cornerback and played predominantly in the nickel. The reasoning? He’s too good to remain on the bench. A move to the outside fixes Breeland’s loss.

The nickel will need a proven talent and Sutton should be the ideal cheap and productive option. Last season for the Steelers, he came on strong towards the end of the year, playing in 552 snaps and seeing most action in the slot.

The cornerback class could have some gems, but it’s also not the biggest concern for Kansas City early. With little playing time over the last four years, Sutton would be a nice, yet also affordable find for a defense that will see plenty of three-receiver looks in the AFC West next season.
