6. Super Bowl 56 favorites – Baltimore Ravens

Our third AFC North entrant on the list of Super Bowl favorites is Baltimore, which showed impressive resolve to rally from a sluggish 6-5 start to rip off five straight wins to get into the playoffs. Lamar Jackson also finished strong, overcoming a bout with the coronavirus to pick up his first career playoff win on Wild Card Weekend.

All of the playoff questions resurfaced for Jackson in the Divisional Round, however, when he simply couldn’t make enough plays through the air to beat the Buffalo Bills. Jackson’s pick-six was a back-breaker for the Ravens, who never recovered in a 17-3 loss.

There is still plenty to like here for Baltimore, which has a loaded defense that can make them the presumptive favorites to win the division in 2021. GM Eric DeCosta will have to make a choice whether to retain Yannick Ngakoue or Matt Judon in free agency since squeezing both under the salary cap may not be a wise use of resources when the Ravens have significant offensive needs.

Baltimore also has to find a way to get more weapons for Jackson at wide receiver in order to help him continue evolving as a passer. Mark Andrews is a great tight end and Hollywood Brown is a good deep threat but a true no. 1 receiver can help the Ravens unlock another level in Jackson’s game that can elevate them to Super Bowl contention.
