NFL free agency 2021: Best quarterbacks available
1. Dak Prescott
Cowboys fans reading this should understand that the chances of Prescott leaving Dallas this offseason are pretty small. It’s not an impossible scenario though. Any player who hits free agency has some chance of leaving their current franchise.
The most likely outcome is still Prescott getting a massive deal from the team that drafted him. If he does hit the open market, he immediately becomes the top option for any team looking for a new quarterback to build around. It’s not out of the question that Prescott could get the biggest salary in NFL history if he’s permitted to hit free agency.
His injury history won’t cause any teams to dampen their interest in signing him. He may not be the most talented quarterback in the league, but he’s consistently produced at a Pro Bowl level in Dallas. He comfortably profiles as a top-10 starter in the league at the absolute worst.
It will be interesting to see if the wide chasm between Prescott and the rest of the quarterbacks hitting free agency causes any interested team to float an outrageous contract to his representatives. That’s really the only chance he leaves Dallas this offseason. Again, it’s an unlikely outcome, but it’s not impossible.
