3. Allen Robinson free agency fits – New York Jets

Let’s stick with the AFC East theme here and take a look at the Jets as a potential landing spot for Robinson. New York is in desperate need of help at wide receiver, particularly a no. 1 option for their passing game.

Denzel Mims and Jamison Crowder are good secondary options but the Jets haven’t had a real top target since Brandon Marshall left after the 2016 season. Robinson would also be able to cash in with a big-money contract since the Jets have a boatload of cap space to work with.

It is fair to question whether Robinson would be coming to a worse quarterback situation than the one he currently has in Chicago. New York does have several options to improve at that position, however, such as pushing all the chips into the middle of the table for a Deshaun Watson trade or drafting a guy like Zach Wilson or Justin Fields with the No. 2 pick in the draft.

Robinson has hinted at interest in joining Watson in New York so the two could be a package deal. Even if Watson doesn’t end up in New York, the Jets have the money to make a big play for the top receiver their offense really needs.
