2021 NFL Draft: Jacksonville Jaguars 7-round mock
Round 5
Taylor is a big corner (6-foot-3, 196 pounds) who may have to move to safety in the NFL. He only played three games in the shortened 2020 season, but he had a nice showing at the Senior Bowl and NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah spoke highly of his work. He may have dispelled the notion that he’s destined to be an NFL safety.
“That’s just another phenomenal job by Keith Taylor Jr. who’s having a really big-time game. It’s hard to find corners that size, that can move like that. He’s so fluid and to be able to find and locate and play the ball is a bonus. You don’t find 6’2″ corners like that can really run and play down the field like that.”
Browning was productive as a part-time player for the Buckeyes in 2019 (11 tackles for loss, five sacks), before starting 2020 slowly then showing well against Clemson and Alabama. He seems to have some untapped upside, and the tie to Jacksonville is clear with Meyer recruiting him to Columbus in the 2017 class.
Round 7
Hubert was a force over his final two seasons at Kansas State, with 15.5 sacks, 25.5 tackles for loss and the fourth-most quarterback pressures in college football over the 2019 and 2020 campaigns (93).
Hubert profiles as a situational pass rusher at the next level. The Jaguars need depth along the defensive line and some extra juice in their pass rush, so he fits nicely as a seventh-round pick who has a good chance to stick.
Borom showed versatility during his time at Missouri, in particular in 2019 when he started games at left guard and right tackle. He settled a right tackle, and despite missed some games as a junior last season Pro Football Focus graded him very well (four pressures allowed on 324 pass plays, an 83.0 overall grade and a 84.5 pass blocking grade). The latter two numbers were second and first among SEC offensive tackles. He would fit nicely as a depth option for the Jaguars.
