1. Green Bay Packers

There’s still something missing when it comes to the team from “Titletown.” And speaking of the land of cheese, a certain veteran defensive end who was the seventh overall pick from the University of Wisconsin is now on the open market and can be signed immediately.

The Green Bay Packers recently parted ways with defensive coordinator Mike Pettine. And obviously, the Houston Texans and J.J. Watt have gone their separate ways.

Head coach Matt LaFleur’s new DC is Joe Barry. He inherits a unit that played much better in 2020 than it had in previous seasons. But the Packers could still use a little help up front when it comes slowing down opposing runners. The Pack was tied with the Washington Football Team when it came to run defense, ranking 13th in the league.

Watt would also give LaFleur’s club another playmaker for the NFC North champions, who forced only 18 turnovers during the regular season. Yes, the club did pick off Buccaneers’ quarterback Tom Brady in the NFC title game. But coming up with opponent’s miscues was less the norm for a squad that had 25 takeaways in 2019.

Green Bay got a big year from Aaron Rodgers but still came up short of getting back to the Super Bowl. The veteran defender could certainly provide a spark.
