LSU basketball has slumped in February and their NCAA Tournament hopes have suffered, but what’s the bracketology show for the Tigers?

It’s been an interesting year in college basketball with all of the canceled games and practices due to COVID-19 protocol. A lot of teams that are traditionally winning programs are struggling this year. 2021 has brought the death of blue blood basketball as we know it and it could make for an exciting March.

With the tournament creeping closer and closer, where does LSU basketball land on the bracketology and bubble watch?

With five games left on their schedule and one postponed date with Florida that has yet to receive its new date, LSU can’t afford to continue slumping.

LSU basketball should be able to turn it around and make the NCAA Tournament

The LSU Tigers enter Saturday’s game with 12-6 overall and 7-4 in the SEC after losing four of their last five games. The Tigers are fourth in the SEC behind Alabama, Tennessee and Arkansas.

So will LSU make the tournament?

They’re on the bubble.

The five remaining games on the schedule are against winnable opponents. Home games vs. Tennessee and Auburn followed by road games at Georgia and Arkansas with the season finale back at home vs. Vanderbilt, giving the Tigers a chance to finish the year with momentum. The NCAA’s Andy Katz has the Tigers in as an 11-seed.

The Tigers are in action this Saturday against No. 16 Tennessee in what is the toughest game left on their schedule. Should they pull the upset, they will move comfortably off the bubble for the time being.
