March Madness seed reveal – No. 2 seeds

No. 5 – Illinois

The third straight Big Ten team on the seed list, the Fighting Illini have a dangerous two-man combo of Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn. Illinois is currently on a five-game winning streak.

No. 6 – Villanova

The top team in the Big East, Villanova’s resume has been hurt by a lengthy COVID pause costing them games. There’s a good chance the Wildcats can play their way onto the top line with a strong finish.

No. 7 – Alabama

One of the big surprises of the season, Alabama has taken the SEC by storm thanks to tremendous three-point shooting and the nation’s most efficient defense. The Crimson Tide were unranked in January and have surged to the top of the SEC, earning their place on the two-line.

No. 8 – Houston

The Cougars will easily win the American and are a very good team but their resume has few quality victories on it. This could be a team that slips a bit as teams behind them add more Quadrant I wins to their resumes.
