2021 NFL Mock Draft: Quarterbacks dominate the Top 10, but defense controls the board
By Brad Weiss
The Green Bay Packers have to add talent at wide receiver this offseason, and in a draft loaded with players with first-round ability, they get one here at No. 29 overall. With this pick, Rondale Moore is added to the wideout room, giving Aaron Rodgers a real No. 2 in the passing game.
The Buffalo Bills are for real, and they should be in the conversation in the AFC for years to come. With this late first-round pick, they continue to bolster the defensive side of the ball, adding University of Texas linebacker Joseph Ossai, a guy who can play both linebacker and come up and play the edge.
With the Kansas City Chiefs losing in the Super Bowl, a lot of questions will need to be answered, including what to do upfront along the offensive line. They need help in the interior, and get some here near the bottom of the first round, adding USC’s Alijah Vera-Tucker as protection for Patrick Mahomes.
Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will try to repeat in 2021, but they are going to have some tough decisions to make with this roster. If they cannot get all of their elite defensive players back under contract, they will turn to the first round this April, selecting Iowa standout defensive tackle Daviyon Nixon to close out round one.
