OF Cody Bellinger

We now break away from the shortstop market to highlight an outfielder who will earn a massive deal in the very near future. Cody Bellinger.

The young outfielder made an immediate impact in his debut season in 2017, where he managed to make the All-Star Game and won the NL Rookie of the Year award. Two years later, Bellinger was the best player in the NL, as he outlasted an intense battle with Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich for the MVP award. In that 2019 campaign, Bellinger led the league in total bases (351) and intentional walks (21).

Like Baez, Bellinger did have a bit of a down year in terms of batting average (career-low of .239), but do not look too much into that. He is still one of the more dangerous hitters in the league.

And do not dare ask if the Dodgers would be able to afford Bellinger. The Dodgers have made it known they are not afraid to go above the luxury tax threshold if it means competing for the World Series on a yearly basis. Besides, the Padres committed $640 million to Tatis and Manny Machado alone. The Dodgers will not hesitate to throw another $300 million-plus in the outfield alongside Betts.
