Carson Wentz shares his thoughts with Philadelphia Eagles fans on Instragram after he was traded to the Indianapolis Colts.

After being traded to the Indianapolis Colts, Carson Wentz said his goodbyes to the Philadelphia Eagles on his Instagram account on Friday evening.

Wentz was drafted No. 2 overall by the Eagles out of North Dakota State in the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent his first five NFL seasons in the City of Brotherly Love. While it did not end for him in the way that anybody wanted, Wentz took the time to thank his teammates, Eagles owner Jeffery Lurie, the Eagles front office, the City of Philadelphia and all the Eagles fans who cheered him on.

Will Carson Wentz be able to revitalize his career with the Indianapolis Colts?

What made the Colts such an intriguing landing spot for Wentz on the trade market was that he would be reunited with his former Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich in Indianapolis. Together, they had tremendous success with the 2017 Eagles. Reich parlayed that Super Bowl championship season into being named the Colts head coach entering the 2018 NFL season.

The Colts were a playoff team a season ago with an aging Philip Rivers at quarterback. With Wentz coming to Indianapolis, the Colts could be in line to win the AFC South for the first time since 2014. While the Colts are not quite Super Bowl contenders just yet in the deep AFC, the idea is Wentz can maybe return to form under Reich’s tutelage. If not, then the Colts will draft somebody else.

Wentz must put the last five years behind him if he wants to have success again in the NFL.
