When Aaron Rodgers mentioned Jodie Foster in his NFL MVP speech, that was a complete shock to her.

Actress Jodie Foster may be a Green Bay Packers fan, but even she was blown away when quarterback Aaron Rodgers mentioned her during his 2020 NFL MVP speech.

Foster co-starred with Rodgers’ fiancee Shailene Woodley in The Mauritanian. While they bonded over several things on set, including the Packers, Foster says she had not met Rodgers prior to Woodley’s engagement to the Green Bay quarterback.

“You see he said, ‘my team,’ even though he said, ‘off the field,’ that makes me a Green Bay Packer,” joked Foster on Thursday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. “People keep saying to me, ‘No, Jodie, that does not mean you’re part of the team.’ But it does mean I’m part of the team.”

Rodgers and Woodley did a great job of keeping their relationship private

“I don’t know if it’s a coincidence. But yes, she is and she’s fantastic,” said Foster expounding on Rodgers and Woodley’s engagement. “So we spent a lot of time on The Mauritanian together in a little tent with air conditioning spitting at us talking about our lives and recipes and people we hate, things like that. And the Green Bay Packers somehow came up!”

For it to have never come up that Woodley was dating Rodgers while on set with an actress as revered as Foster, you just cannot make this up. Everybody thought Rodgers was single during his MVP season, but here we are. To keep their relationship private in a 24-hour news cycle is truly astounding. Foster may be a Packers fan, but she had no idea she was working with his fiancee.

While Foster appreciated the shoutout, she insisted she had never even met Rodgers before.
