The Mets pitchers aren’t happy with Trevor Bauer, but it goes beyond his free agent choice.

While Noah Syndergaard poked fun at Bauer for his free agency decision, in which he signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers at seemingly the last minute, Marcus Stroman landed a more direct hit while raising a significant question about the reigning NL Cy Young winner.

Bauer has long been at odds with the Twitter community, in part because of his alleged indirect harassment of women, in which he sent his legion of followers to back him up in several arguments. Bauer has since apologized via a statement, and said he never intended to harass anyone. That’s understandably not good enough for some.

Earlier this week, Bauer also had to back up his views on immigration to Dodgers fans. Bauer is on the record stating he’s in favor of legal immigration, but a fan made the point that a significant number of Dodgers fans are Latin-Americans, and that the immigration process isn’t always as speedy and simple for some.

Stroman chimed in with his thoughts on Bauer

Bauer initially defended himself after Stroman’s comment, to which Stroman has yet to respond to at this time.

Bauer’s response avoids a key point — stating women and people of color shouldn’t be harassed is not deflecting poor treatment onto others. Stroman’s statement is valid as minorities and women are often the most victimized, so of course they deserve a little extra protection in this matter. All harassment is not created equal, sadly. That’s not the online world we live in.

This is the ‘All Lives Matter’ of answers.
