NFL free agency 2021: Best tight ends available
2) Rob Gronkowski
Fresh off winning his fourth Super Bowl championship alongside Tom Brady, and first with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, chances are Rob Gronkowski’s priority this offseason is to agree to terms on a deal that will allow him to run it back in his adopted home state of Florida.
Gronkowski, one year removed from retirement, had a vintage performance in 2020, catching 45 passes for 623 yards and seven touchdowns, prior to catching a pair of touchdowns in the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl LV blowout win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Buccaneers are going to have a lot of mouths to feed this offseason, including All-Pro linebacker Shaq Barrett, linebacker LaVonte David, and wide receiver Chris Godwin, to name a few, and only have $13.3 million in cap space to go around.
If Gronkowski and the Buccaneers are unable to reach a pact, look for the Miami Dolphins to make a play for the 31-year-old to pair opposite Mike Gesicki, or perhaps the Jets would swoop in and offer Gronkowski the opportunity to exact revenge on the New England Patriots twice per season.
