Khris Middleton

Khris Middleton may only be the 40th-ranked scorer in the NBA, but his efficiency, defense and value to the Milwaukee Bucks was clearly overlooked by the head coaches.

Putting up 20.5 points per game, Middleton’s scoring came on borderline 50-40-90 shooting splits, as he’s shooting 50.5 percent from the field, 43.1 percent from 3 and 89.5 percent from the free-throw line. In addition to that kind of absurd efficiency, he’s also posting 6.0 rebounds and a career-high 5.7 assists per game.

The Bucks weren’t dominant enough to warrant a third All-Star, especially with Jrue Holiday missing games, but Middleton’s been too good to leave out. It’s pretty clear the voting skewed toward star power and team success in picking Ben Simmons over him. Simmons is doubling as a Defensive Player of the Year candidate, but Middleton is no slouch in that category either. Maybe the Sixers’ team success gave them the edge for having a second All-Star over Milwaukee, but leaving Middleton out just feels wrong.

Verdict: Incorrect call (should’ve been in over Ben Simmons)
