Jerami Grant

Don’t worry, Detroit Pistons fans: I’m well aware how good Jerami Grant has been this season, and that he should be the frontrunner for the Most Improved Player award.

Grant bet on himself in the offseason as a No. 1 option, and that bet is paying off to the tune of 23.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game on 37.6 percent shooting from 3-point range. He’s been legitimately good, not just putting up empty-calorie stats on a losing team.

With all of that being said, you’d have to post some pretty historic numbers (like Bradley Beal!) to make up for such a dreadful team record in the All-Star debate, and the Pistons have done him no favors with the NBA’s second-worst record at 8-22. Grant has been good, but he hasn’t been that good.

Verdict: Correct call
