The Seattle Seahawks have re-signed running back Alex Collins and the speedster is clearly fired up to be returning to Lumen Field.

John Schneider and the Seattle Seahawks have finalized a deal with a young running back, but it’s not Chris Carson. On Wednesday, it was announced that Seattle has agreed to a new contract with Alex Collins.

The 5-foot-10, 210-pounder just wrapped up his fourth season in the NFL and his second in the Northwest. Now that he’s officially returning to the team for 2021, Collins took to Twitter to let the Seattle faithful know just how fired up he is to don the team’s jersey once again.

Alex Collins couldn’t be happier to be returning to the Seattle Seahawks

As you can see from his tweet, Collins sure is pumped to know that Schneider and Pete Carroll are ready to give him another go with the team. Last season, the running back saw limited action, appearing in three games and making one start. He finished the year rushing the ball 18 times for 77 yards and two touchdowns.

While Collins won’t put up superstar numbers, he was a reliable option for the Seahawks last season when the team was battling injuries at running back. Now, Collins will hope to get his number called even more come 2021.

For the Seahawks, they still need to figure out who their starting running back will be. Carson is an unrestricted free agent this offseason and it may be tough for Seattle to keep him in the fold. He’s sure to attract plenty of suitors out in free agency. If the team is able to bring him back, he’d be the work horse, no doubt about it.

While Seahawks fans will wait to see if Schneider can work his magic with Carson, they’ll be relieved to know that Collins isn’t going anywhere.
